Program Requirements

Six Courses for Graduate or Undergraduate Credit

• One of 2 foundation courses in Jewish Early Childhood Education
• • Building a Jewish Life: Concepts and Curriculum in the Jewish Early Childhood Classroom (Jewish Education 40233A)
  • Mitzvot, Moral Development, and Classroom Management (Jewish Education 30225)
• 2 Jewish Early Childhood Education electives, such as:
• • Holidays through Horticulture (Jewish Education 40224)
  • The Power of Narrative: Torah and Aggadah (Jewish Education 40231)
  • The Development of Jewish Identity in Young Children: Effects of Family, Community, and Society (Jewish Education 40241)
  • Spirituality and Ritual in the Jewish Early Childhood Classroom: Shabbat and Daily Practices (Jewish Education 40230)
• 1 course in the Jewish Life Cycle or Teaching Holidays
• 1 course in Jewish Texts
• 1 Jewish studies elective of your choice in Bible, History, Thought, Rabbinics or Literature *

All of our courses meet the requirements of the levels of the National Board of License, used in many communities to determine salaries.
